Palinsesto is an Italian word that describes the practice of reusing a sheet of paper and continuously writing over what was previously written. This was more common in times when paper was scarce. This process of perpetually reusing paper and layering ink creates a very unique object. To me, these images of walls from Italy very much resemble this idea. They have been re-purposed many times over. Centuries have passed, times have changed and they have undergone some changes; a pipe here, some rewiring there, but these walls still remain. They are a testament to the past, the future, and the resilience of spirit that lies inside all of us.
